Services

Therapy for young adults (late teens) through older adults focused on my areas of specialty below.

Adjusting and Coping
with Illness

Often people feel alone and overwhelmed with a new medical diagnosis, feel unsure about the physical and emotional changes that may occur and have uncertainty about navigating the healthcare system.

Anxiety & Depression

Sometimes people feel anxious, depressed, or angry. Feeling that you have lost the joyful feelings you used to have in life or worrying how illness may impact you or your loved one going forward can also cause concern.

Caregiver Support

Often caregivers are honored and privileged to take care of a loved one but may experience stress or burnout after taking on a primary caretaker role. This, plus balancing other life responsibilities, can be challenging.

Grief and Loss

Grief and loss can encompass many feelings. It can include adjusting to a new normal while at the same time feeling worried about your future or the future of your loved one. It can include loss of activities you once enjoyed. It can include helping a loved one transition to end of life care.

Support for Healthcare Professionals

As a former hospital social worker, I understand first-hand the stressors of being an essential worker and being on the frontline of care. I also understand the challenges of burnout and the attempt to try and maintain “work-life” balance. I provide therapy to people like yourself (the helping professionals) so that you can manage better and continue doing the important work that you do!

Stress

Often people have other stressors in life that have nothing to do with illness but now co-exist or even magnify as you manage this new time in your life.

If any of these examples ring true for yourself or someone you care for, please know that you are not alone. And even though you might feel alone, please know that these are common worries and concerns felt by those impacted by illness. Most importantly, please know that you have taken an important step in seeking support.
